In continuation of the presentation of Varnams in 72 Melakartas, the present posting includes one of the six Varnams, in the 23rd Melakarta Raga GOWRIMANOHARI, of the second chakra namely VEDA CHAKRA. It may be noted most of the Varnams carry the Raga mudra and all of them, the composer's mudra as "murthy". Also, note the datu prayogas that add dynamism to the Varnams as well as the capability for alertness to catch such changes. In addition, the scintillating and symmetrical phrases will ease the learning and remembering process as well as aid in developing aesthetic swara patterns and enable the development of manodharma.
