Stalwarts in the Nallan Chakravarthy Family
Sriman Nallan Chakravarthy Srinivasa Venkatacharylu,
Shri Murthy's father, was a well-known Sanskrit scholar, a Sahityavisarada and
Satavadhani, who propagated the Geervana bhasha in a big way. He was the
recipient of the prestigious UP Sahitya Academy Award.
Sriman Kodamasimham Lakshmanacharyulu. Shri Murthy's maternal
grandfather was a well-known Carnatic Violinist during the 19th Century who was
counted along with the then stalwarts of Carnatic music like Piratla
Sankarayya, Mahavadi Venkatappiah, and Papatla Kantayya.
Smt. Telkicherla Kandadai Seetamma, Sri Murthy's
paternal aunt, was a well-respected literary and spiritual personality who contributed
to various Prabandhas. Significant among them is the translation of Tiruppavai
Prabandham into beautiful sankeertanas in Telugu for the first time in history.
Sriman N Ch Krishnamacharyulu, elder brother of Shri
Murthy, was a well-revered Violinist, a Sangita Sahitya Kalanidhi and Harikatha
Chudamani, and a Vaggeyakara who was felicitated by the Music Academy during
2002.
Sriman Chilakamarri Ramacharyulu, Shri Murthy's uncle,
was an internationally reputed Guru of Kuchipudi Natyam and is known for his
innovative Picture Painting dances such as Simhanandini, Mayura Kautham etc. He
was a key member of the Sangita Nataka Academy during its formative period.
