From the presentation of Varnams in 72 Melakartas in the works from N.C. Murthy’s JANAKA RAGA VARNA MANJARI, the present posting includes one of the six varnams of the first chakra namely INDU CHAKRA, in the 1st Melakarta Raga KANAKANGI. It may be noted most of the varnams carry the Raga mudra and all of them, the composer's mudra as "murthy". Also, note the datu prayogas that add dynamism to the Varnams as well as the capability for alertness to catch such changes. In addition, the scintillating and symmetrical phrases will ease the learning and remembering process as well aid in developing aesthetic swara patterns and enable the development of Manodharma.
